We appreciate that you found this thread instead of starting a new one, but if you plan to post here please make sure it's still relevant. On the other hand, if the toe is flat or downwards and the heel is upwards, the shots are inclined towards the right. For every degree that the lie angle is flat or upright, the ball will travel four yards off the target line. However, this adjustment has to be done along with the adjustment of the putter length.

Together, the two adjustments ensure that you get the right posture and eye position when using your putter. Visiting a golf fitting expert is the best option to ensure your lie angle is at optimal values. The process is very complex for the average person to perform themselves.

You can adjust the lie angle of your putter as many times as you want. There is no restriction on the number of times you do this, especially if your putter has a forged head. You must also keep in mind that the loft of the putter can also change each time you adjust the lie angle. Also, if the adjustment is not done carefully in such putters, the chrome plating may get damaged. Otherwise, you can seek the assistance of a golf store personnel. There are a few ways of adjusting the lie angle of your putter.

However if you feel like you are capable, then you may try the following alternative methods at your own risk. I think equipment rules state that any bend has to be within 5 inches of the ground. What you are suggesting is well above that.

With that information, I guess my only option is to add a third bend near the hosel, which I have already done although not very professional looking. IF a shaft could be bent without ruining it, you need a tubing bender.

I doubt it can be done, but that would be the tool. I have bent putter shafts with a tubing bender with not so good results.

If the shaft and putter really work well you could sand all the chrome off the shaft and bondo and paint it. LOL that is how I might solve such a problem Putter: Strokelab EXO 7; Have a look here. Items about 26 to 28 page 30 plus explains rule. Does not say why but I presume a lot of it is to keep it plain and similar to old clubs. That seems to be the intent of the rules. Seems like my best option is to just play with an ugly looking putter until I can justify paying for a custom made club Evnroll 5 is what I have had my eye on.

If it works then keep using it. I have gone to face on putting and have made some ugly putters to use. If they are working they go in the bag. If not working they get replaced or further adjustment and ugliness.

Fair point and I agree with you. Hopefully I'm able to find a place to play this weekend or next. If I make puts then I'll probably be perfectly comfortable gaming the ugly putter. Best of luck getting a game. I am in New Zealand and we are in lock down. I will be lucky to get a game in four weeks time. Not sure but if our course is not getting regular maintenance predictions are that it could be quite a while before the course is ready.

I just have to wait. Patience grasshopper! Hope you have a back yard where you can at least get some practice swings with the new set.

In the states I think courses are mostly allowed to have a maintenance crew so they are probably in the best shape they will ever be in.

Not a ball mark or divot on the whole course. Here it is:. What happens to the toe hang tho? I know most putters you can ben degrees and get away with little to no change in the toe hang but is that possible here? Could he end up with a heel hang putter after only a few degrees? Yea even MG bent my Bettie beyond fb one time and I had to get them to correct it so just be careful because it will feel really weird. When you bend that 2 ball it may end up beyond face balanced.

I had get a strong arc after bendING to orange dot Bending something like a 9 with the most toe hang will definitely not have the same Effect. This should change the toe hang as drastically. Last edited by 5hort5tuff ; Apr 7, , PM.
