Where to get ev reducing berries in platinum

User Info: Detsuos Detsuos 11 years ago 1 Hey guys, I've just recently trying to get into the whole EV training scene, and i've only found out recently that exp share, shares EVs, so that messed up my Gyarados majorly, so I'm trying to find some berries to knock down the EVs so I can properly train it. Now my question is, where can I find the berries to do this? I've checked the guides to find the routes that these berries grow on, but when I go to these routes, there are no berries there at all, and I don't have any of these berries in my bags.

How can I get these? And is there anything else I can do? Shortly before Platinum was released, I was talking to my friends about how their EV training was going, as they were moving into competitive battling, and they mentioned EV reducing berries, namely Pomeg, Kelpsy, Qualot, Hondew, Grepa, and Tamato.

I'd never heard of berries having such effects so I ignored them, thinking that'd I never EV train anyway. Of course, I was wrong. I decided to EV train them that day, and got the Effort Ribbon for both of them. Yesterday, I was browsing through my ribbons, and realised Shaymin was missing it's Effort Ribbon. That means that I'd totally forgotten to save after EV training Shaymin! Of course, I'd like to retrain Shaymin, but it now has EVs in all sorts of stats, and I have no clue what they are!

I've used it as part of my main team since Victory Road. So, in short I have four questions. There are a few items or features you can get that help speed up the process of EV Training, though, and are strongly recommended before starting the process.

Other games may allow you to buy vitamins for a very small amount of Battle Points BP. This is NOT a bad thing! Its sole effect is to speed up EV Training. The only downside is that it will no longer spread.

It just requires a bit of communication and negotiation. HP Up raises HP. Protein raises Attack. Iron raises Defense. Calcium raises Special Attack.
