Which anne rice book should i start with

Can anyone tell me if they add much to the Mayfair story or if they are mainly Vampire Chronicles? Blackwood Farm is more about Monica Mayfair than Rowan though. Thanks, might give them a try when my reading pile has gone down slightly. Last edited: Jun 24, FicusFan Anitaverse Refugee. Joined Nov 17, Messages 3, I can't even remember what Merrick was about. Yes, it sucked that bad. Most of the books in the Vampire Chronicles were good, but there were a few that were absolutely horrible.

Some are top notch. Anne Rice is kind of hit and miss with her work. I have both series in their entireity, although I'll probably never read some of them again. Nihondreamer New Member. James Patterson may use ghost writers for the majority of his books these days, but one series he always keeps to himself is the Alex Cross series.

This is the series that put Patterson on the map, and the 29th book in the series is released this month. It's entitled Fear No Evil and it features Alex Cross going up against the person who he has tangled with for years - Cross and Sampson head to Montana to finish this feud once and for all.

It is released on November 22nd and is our Book of the Month! Every 2 weeks we send out an e-mail with 12 Book Recommendations by genre. Subscribe today! Click here for all past recommendations. Any authors or characters we're missing that we should add?

However you may get away with just reading the ones written 'by Lestat' in order and leaving the other books 'written by' the other vampires to later day, but still to get the full effect it is better in order.

To really understand Merrick and Blackwood farm you will need to acquant yourself with the mayfair witches. Merrick is a Mayfair witch that helps Lestat out. Though who the Mayfairs are is not overly important you will want to have read at the vest least the first mayfair witches book before Blackwood Farm, to have a bit of an understanding of what happened to them. Pandora and Vittorio are both kinda stand alone books, Pandora is associated with Lestat and the others but her book doesn't need to be read to progress.

Vittorio I don't think knows them personally. So you could leave those two books out if you wished, or just read them later. The world building in these books is rather great. It really is worth reading in the correct order. May 09, PM. I found a site that gave this recommended reading order. I originally read them as they came out but seeing how there is so much back and forth time wise in the books I was curious if there was a better order. Witching Hour b. Lasher c. Taltos 9.

Merrick Blackwood Farm Blood Canticle Prince Lestat. Apr 16, PM. I think if you read the books in this order things makes sense as you go along based on back stories Apr 20, AM. I think you are right. I like chronological reading and you have the perfect order. It even includes the Mayfair witches.
